Our Mission and Objectives

Woodlands House of Prayer is a Christian charity rooted in prayer, committed to helping those in need of rest and restoration find new strength and hope, through reconnecting with God, each other and nature.

We long for people to be restored through faith, fellowship and nature.

The Charity was founded in 1942 with the mission statement ‘Given to Hospitality’ Romans 12 v 13.  The object of the charity was to establish and maintain ‘a home for the purpose of affording the means of physical and spiritual help to those in need.’

When the charity became incorporated in 2014 the objects were expanded and are:

  1. The establishment and maintenance of a home for the purpose of affording the means of physical and spiritual help to those in need.
  2. To advance the Christian faith in accordance with the Statement in such ways and in such parts of the UK or the world as the directors from time to time may think fit
  3. The relief of those in need or hardship or distress or who are aged or sick in such parts of the UK or the world as the directors from time to time may think fit
  4. To advance education in such ways and in such parts of the UK or the world as the directors from time to time may think fit
  5. The preservation, conservation, maintenance, protection and improvement of the whole or any part or parts of the buildings, grounds and surrounding area currently known as Brunel Manor
  6. To further such other purposes being exclusively charitable according to the laws of England and Wales as the directors may from time to time determine.
