Extensive restoration work is being carried
out in the gardens, with many original features
seeing the light of day after having been
covered for many decades. Visitors to the
gardens can enjoy seeing many original trees,
including two fine specimen Araucaria Araucana
trees (monkey puzzle), cobble lined paths,
footings for the Teignmouth Road bridge,
the water cascade and upper pond, Brunel's
seat - his lookout over the bay, the Italian
Gardens and Terraces. There is a garden
trail with interpretation panels and inside
the Manor an exhibition showing the history
of Brunel at Watcombe, including copies
of Brunel's original planting notes and
records of tree growth from his Watcombe
Garden Book.

Entry is by donation and this can be gift
aided.

coming by public transport, the 32T
bus (Teignmouth-Torquay-Paignton service)
stops directly outside.
Ongoing restoration work or adverse weather
conditions may restrict access or opening
times for safety reasons.
Due to steep slopes in parts of the gardens,
disabled access is limited
