‘A life changing weekend’

Church weekend away. Brunel Manor provides
an ideal location for churches to seize
the opportunity and see the benefits of
being away from the time-constrained norms
of a Sunday. It is a time where strong links
can be built within and across generations
as people experience very different dynamics
to those within the four walls of the church
building and people start to get to know
the real person that so often lies masked
by the Sunday best.
 For
over 40 years churches of all sizes have
enjoyed coming to Brunel Manor for their
Church Weekend, or perhaps for an annual
mid-week or week long holiday. With 70 bedrooms,
we have facilities which can cater for groups
of up to 150 people, as well as having the
flexibility to allow more than one smaller
group to come and have full access to their
own facilities. Smaller groups often find
the intimacy provided by The Lodge, with
accommodation and meeting rooms for up to
18 people, to be very beneficial.
We have comprehensive facilities and are
renowned for our food, in a beautiful location,
adjacent to a stunning coastline and wonderful
moorland and located just 18 miles off the
M5, with good coach and rail links. Our
staff are here to help both in the planning
stages, with information and advice about
the manor facilities and locality, and also
during your stay to help ensure that your
event runs smoothly and that everyone goes
away satisfied that they have received the
very best. We are also able to fully organize
events for you, identifying suitable guest
speakers and arranging the programme, including
trips out as appropriate to the nature of
the break.
 Apart
from holidays and church weekends, many
churches use our excellent facilities for
a variety of other events, such as Alpha
away days and weekends, leaders retreats
and times of prayer.
In free time outside of formal sessions,
during summer months guests value the opportunity
of sitting on the terrace and enjoying the
wonderful vista, or walking through the
tranquil gardens and woodland, whilst winter
evenings are enhance with the chance of
sitting around a roaring open log fire.
The swimming pool and other sports and leisure
facilities are available for use throughout
the day; with them being available on an
exclusive use basis by prior arrangement.
