Christ's church in Britain today faces
a very real challenge. It is widely accepted
that on the one hand society is now effectively
post-Christian and much of opinion-forming,
decision-making and legislation is dominated
by the secular agenda and political correctness.
Yet there are real signs that the Church
(Christ's Body) is rising to the challenge:
through the re-discovery of Christ's kingdom-teaching
and effective leadership utilizing the gifts
of the Spirit; and through the empowerment
of Christ's people to be His light and His
representatives in the world today.
In 2010, Brunel is hosting a number of
Conferences which will put kingdom teaching
at the forefront and which seek to help
empower Christians in the way in which Christ
intended in order to participate in and
encourage engagement in such a vital task
at this critical time.
Brunel Conferences for 2010 are:
Kingdom Healing Course with Rev Mike Endicott,
Autumn Holiday Week Comforting
with His Comfort - Jennifer Rees Larcombe,
Autumn Bible week with Rev David Coffey,
These conferences are open to groups, individuals
and day visitors. Churches and other Christian
organizations are invited to make a group
booking, where full participation in the
organized events will be supplemented by
having the opportunity to meet together
as a group under their own leadership. Individuals
and day visitors will be encouraged to share
in the plenary events and with group meetings
under a Brunel leader.
Typically
the main conference sessions will be during
the daytime on Tuesdays & Thursdays,
giving a relaxed day between for enjoying
the glories of Devon, and daily times of
worship each evening.
Early booking is highly recommended for
these events. There will be a reasonable
charge for day visitors, which will include
a buffet lunch.
Please refer to the Brunel programme for
details of each of these conferences.
